A Poetic Celebration of Fall

Welcome!

Cute Fall Display in Front of Joe and Tammy Stuffle's Home in Tennessee

                  "In the Leaves"

The maple tree that stands on the lawn
Is now in a state of glory.
Its colorful leaves of red and gold
Repeat the age old story.
Of the many autumns it's stood there so
And  sheltered the children below,
Who played in the leaves each autumn
And in winter played in the snow.

They romped and tumbled years ago,
There in the grass turned brown
And shouted in glee to catch the leaves
As they came floating down.
Now, they watch their children there
And the shuttle of memory weaves
As they see again the happy days
They spent there in the leaves.

A Fun-filled Weekend!

Greg and I just had a very busy week and weekend!  The week was mostly work-related, but the weekend was purely fun.

It all started out with relatives (Betty and Mike), visiting our new house.

Afterwards, we all went out to eat at a great little restaurant, Square Market & Café, in Columbia, Tennessee.

                                                          Wonderful Food!

Our meal was accompanied by the sweet sound of music, compliments of Peter Skrabak on the acoustic guitar.  (www.peterskrabak.com).

(For more information on this café, please see my January 8, 2012 blog post.)

As if all of this weren't enough, we met Betty, Mike, and some other relatives at The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville.  (www.thehermitagehotel.com)

We dined inside at The Capitol Grille.

This place is awesome!

It's where some of the beautiful people hang out.

To top it all off, we all enjoyed our little relative's performance in the Nashville Ballet's world premiere of "Peter Pan."

                                                             Good job!

Our weekend was over, but we had enough happy memories to tide us over until our next fun-filled event!

Positive thought: Make every day a fun day!
Thanks for visiting!  Until next Monday (We have another busy weekend coming up!), Becky

The Old Curiosity Book Shop

Welcome!

If you'd like to visit a unique book shop that is full of charm and interesting (secondhand and new) books, be sure to visit The Old Curiosity Book Shop in Columbia, Tennessee.

You know you're somewhere different even before you enter the shop, the building with its old façade, and clever name, which is a play on the title of a Charles Dickens novel, "The Old Curiosity Shop."

The uniqueness continues inside with a lovely décor throughout.  While I was there, several people commented on how much they liked the way everything looked.

They also seemed to like the books, as I saw a lady carry out a whole armload of them.

The proprietors, James and Heather Lund, decorated the shop themselves.

Even my books are on display!

I'll like to publicly thank James and Heather for allowing me to have a book signing at their shop yesterday.  I had a great time.  (For more on the book signing and other book-related happenings, please see my other blog, www.spiritphotographs.blogspot.com .)

Animal Wisdom

Welcome!

Animals have so much to teach us, if we just pay attention.  At times, I feel as though animals are in many ways superior to us human beings.  In fact, I believe they have what I call animal wisdom.
