We Are Powerful!

We can affect our environment for good or for bad because we are more powerful than we realize.

Not long ago, one night around midnight, Greg said that he noticed a vehicle across the street from where we live, acting strangely. The vehicle's horn blew off and on for about a minute, and its lights went off and on at the same time. And the really strange thing is that no one was near there at that time.

Something similar like that happened to our own car about four years ago. It was also late at night.

The only explanation Greg could come up with was that four years ago, and also, just recently, he had gotten acupuncture treatments for his back. Apparently, the needles had caused an energy release which affected the electrical systems of the nearby vehicles. That's pretty powerful energy!

Also, to further show how we can affect things around us, Greg told me that he had heard about a woman who had moved many miles away from the house in which she had lived, and that somehow during the move, her beloved cat had accidentally gotten left behind. She missed her cat so much that she started praying about it daily, while she looked at its picture.

Miraculously, some days later, her cat showed up at her new house! This just illustrates again how powerful our minds, our energy fields really are!

This power can be used for good or for bad. It can be positive or negative. (If we are deliberately using our power for the bad, we are building up some very bad karma for ourselves!)

Instead of  dwelling on what is, we need to focus on a positive outcome. Just imagine how wonderful it would be, to transform our lives, one positive thought at a time!

If we'd just start imagining the Earth as a place of love, peace, and harmony, our powerful thoughts could positively transform our world and the people in it. Sounds like a plan!

Small Business Feature-

Papa Taso's Diner

Our usual restaurant in Wytheville, Virginia was closed for renovation, so we talked with several people, including those at the welcome center, and we decided to try the recommended Papa Taso's Diner for lunch, and we weren't disappointed. It's a Greek restaurant with seafood and more. It's in an old building that used to be a service station. Check it out online for yourself!

This was what I had for lunch at Papa Taso's. Yum!

Living Positively

Living positively can be a challenge anytime, but especially in today's unsettled world. It can be done, however.

In this blog post, I'll tell you some things that have helped me in my positive-living journey. Some of these guidelines might even help you!

First of all, I always try to be true to myself. For example, if I feel that a certain fashion trend is not for me, I just don't buy the trendy items. Also, Greg and I are very low-tech. We don't go for the latest technical gadgets. We actually still read real books. We have decided to do what's best for us. Doing this has made us feel happier and more in control of our lives.

-"To thine own self be true."-Shakespeare

Nothing in nature is perfect, but everything is still beautiful. In the same way, you don't have to be perfect to be a beautiful person.

Express yourself! Be creative!

Have a hobby. Do something you'd really enjoy!

Celebrate! (Often!)

Enjoy yourself, wherever you are...

in your own back yard or...

on an adventure!

Pal's in Abingdon, Virginia always has the right idea!-

Surround yourself with happy memories.

Greg and I, with the help of a friend, turned our old unfinished storage room into a finished room, complete with some of the mementos (photos, souvenirs, etc.) that we'd kept from our childhood and beyond. We're still adding things from our recent trips, special occasions, etc. I love this room. When I walk into it, I feel like I'm getting a warm hug.

You don't need to fix a whole room like we did, but keeping things around that make you feel happier can be a good thing!

Always make it a point to only hang out with with others that are kind, supportive, and respectful.

It's nice to have someone special to love, whether it's a person or...

a pet.

We recently made a new friend, this super-cute dog that we met on one of our walks through town.

We try to eat healthy food, even when we eat out.

This parfait may look unhealthy, but it's actually made with pumpkin, yogurt, and honey, and is really quite good. (Also, don't be afraid of doing something new, like making this parfait! You might even start to feel like you're a gourmet chef!)

Every once in a while, though, have a special, decadent treat-

A Special Day in Bell Buckle, Tennessee

Yesterday, Greg and I visited one of our favorite places, Bell Buckle, Tennessee. We were celebrating a special day for us. It was my first big outing since I'd been sick. I've been slowly recovering from a rare serious illness the past few weeks. We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early since the town was already dressed in its valentine finery.

First of all, we had a delicious lunch at the Bell Buckle Cafe. The quality and quantity of the food is amazing. No wonder the cafe is always so busy.

After our meal, including dessert, of course...

Oatmeal Cake (Yum!)

we looked around at all of the interesting little shops and other curiosities.

It was a beautiful, warm day for the first of February so you didn't even need to wear a jacket.

We even worked in ice cream for a snack from the "Bluebird Antiques & Ice Cream Parlor" on February 2, Groundhog Day, 2019.

The groundhog surely saw his shadow in this area, but we didn't care since we were there just to enjoy this day.

Yes, this was Greg's and my special day that we thoroughly enjoyed, and I want to thank Greg for all of his help and support during my difficult time. Greg, I love and cherish you, my best friend and soulmate. (Also, I really appreciate others who have shown their love and support.)
