Welcome!
(As you can see, there are finally pictures on my blog! As many of you know, I have been having technical problems. I really appreciate those of you who sent in suggestions to try to help me. You are very kind. However, the problem was greater than I could handle, so I had to call in an expert. Anyway, all is well!)
Pizza and grits?! Really?! It sounds like an unlikely combination, but it's really very tasty!
Just recently, Greg and I decided we'd be brave and try out Truelove's Pizza and Grits in Columbia, Tennessee. After all, the reviews were good, and they seemed to have a good business with all the vehicles parked in their parking lot. (That's always a good sign.)
Anyway, Greg and I loved it!
The decor is attractive.
The food is really good.
Pizza (with beef)...
and Grits! (Yum!)
They also have appetizers, salads, and desserts from Pie Sensations which is a local business in Columbia that I've featured previously on this blog.
The people at Truelove's are friendly.
Emily Truelove, a niece of owners Glenn and Kathy Truelove, works there, as well as her father and twin sister.
Emily is also a talented artist.
Here's Greg, one very satisfied customer!
What's not to love?

Being Positive, Patient, and Persistent
Welcome!
"Change your thoughts and you change your world."
-Norman Vincent Peale
Dear blog readers, I'm still having issues with putting pictures on my blog posts. I'm planning on resolving it one way or other this week, or however long it takes. I believe I'm being taught patience and persistence because of this challenge. I'm not giving up! If nothing else, I can always restart my blog on another website! (*Important update-Patience, persistence, and being positive paid off! My blogs are acting normal again now! Thank you all for your support!)
-"Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success."
-Napoleon Hill
I have plans for when my blog gets straightened out:
-There are two great places to eat that I'd like to share with you.
-There is something that I have been involved with for over a year that has made a big positive impact on my life personally that I need to tell about.
-Various other things that might be of interest to you.
I'm really excited about two books I'm working on. One is a self-help book which I hope to have out later this year and the other is another book on the paranormal which I'm hoping to have published in 2015.
Take care, and thanks for your patience!
Positive thought: "Happy, happy, happy" - From "Duck Dynasty" (I have this saying several places around in our house. It helps me stay in a positive state of mind. I smile every time I say it out loud or to myself. Try it or something similar and see for yourself!)
Thanks for visiting! Until next Sunday, Becky

More of My Favorite Things
Welcome!
I just wanted you to know that I have encouraging news, at least here in Tennessee. Earlier this week, I actually saw a robin in our front yard! I was so taken aback to see a robin while there was still some snow on the ground that I didn't even think of taking a picture to put on my blog post until it had flown away. Anyway, we may be in for an early spring! (Fingers crossed!)
In the meantime, as part of my New Year's resolution to be even more positive in 2014, no matter what the season, I've been thinking about the things that make my life more enjoyable. The more we think about and enjoy the things that make us happy, the happier and more enjoyable life should be.
I've been thinking about some of my favorite things which I'm going to try to include in my life more often. (I did a similar blog post on 3/15/13 entitled "A Few of My Favorite Things.")
One thing I really like is tea. I have just been using tea bags, but someone gave us loose tea as a Christmas gift, and now, I'm really hooked. Loose tea takes a little more work, but it's worth it! Some of the flavors are incredibly good. That little gift opened up a whole new world for me.
A old favorite that I had almost forgotten about is "Ideals." This is a fantastic magazine that comes out periodically. Some themes are holidays, home, country, etc. It is usually in color and consists of poetry, prose, photographs, and art. I recently rediscovered it when I was trying to think of a Christmas gift that I thought that my mother might enjoy. I got her a Christmas "Ideals," and she loved it! We've saved all of our old "Ideals," as they are too pretty to get rid of. In my spare time, I'm planning on rereading them, as well as buying new ones when they come out.
Greg and I both love old things, like antiques. We have several antique pieces that were given to us by members of our family.
Our cat, Kallie, seems to love this old basket.
"...I love old things...timeworn and frayed,
Upon whose heart the years have laid
A kindly touch as if to show
The beauty of their inner glow."
-From "Old Things" by Edna Jaques, "Ideals" magazine
Positive thought: "..whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things." -Philippians 4:8 NKJV

Winter Magic
As I look around me, I've been noticing a lovely winter magic here in Tennessee.
"Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around people's legs like house cats. It was magical, this snow globe world."
-Sarah Addison Allen
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, we were children once again."
-Bill Morgan, Jr.
"It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it."
-John Burroughs
"Winter is a time of gray, velvet winter drifting toward us...Colors are softer, sounds have more depth, the pace is gentler. Instead of resentment at the lack of sun, snuggle into the gray velvet quilt and make yourself a cup of tea."
-Jennifer Jones
Positive thoughts: "When the snow is still blowing against the window pane in January and February and the wild winds are howling without, what pleasure it is to plan for summer that is to be."-Celia Thaxton
"Always focus on the good, the positive."-Becky Arnott
